Used Centrifuges

These days everyone is looking for value for money.  In a brand new plant it may make sense to buy new centrifuges as part of a production process.  However, depending on the application it may make good sense to buy a refurbished used centrifuge which will still give many years faithful service but at a fraction of the cost of buying new.

Centri-Force Engineering specialises in the refurbishment of second hand used centrifuges.  Our centrifuge engineers have been breathing new life into used centrifuges for nearly thirty years.  typically, used centrifuges are taken back in part exchange for a new or  refurbished centrifuge which has sold to one of our existing customers.  However, we also source used centrifuges for refurbishment to meet specific customer needs and we obtain these from the UK market and around the world.  All of our used centrifuges are completely stripped to their basic components so that every part of the centrifuge can be inspected for wear.  Since we are dealing with high speed rotating equipment the greatest care must be taken to ensure that any refurbishment is built on sound foundations.

When all of the components have been removed the bare frame is shot blasted and repainted.  Naturally, any worn components are replaced during the rebuild along with the wear parts that make up the major service parts kit.  As part of the rebuild process it may be necessary to machine bearing housings which is all done in-house by our own machinists.  Our centrifuge engineers will rebuild the rotating assembly which is then sent for dynamic balancing in our own workshop.  Every used centrifuge is given a computerised balancing test certificate on completion of the dynamic balancing. 

Finally, the completed centrifuge is transferred to the test area where is it is run up to speed and tested before the Factory Acceptance Test which marks the end of the process.  All used centrifuges that have been refurbished by Centri-Force come with a comprehensive warranty which gives our customers further reassurance that their centrifuge will be supplied in excellent condition.

The images above shows the condition of a typical second hand used centrifuge.  Both centrifuges in the image on the left outwardly look like they have reached the end of their useful lives. As can be seen from the image on the right the same centrifuge can be given a new lease of life.  In this case it has been mounted on a skid with its electrical control panel mounted on a frame that support a header tank for the operating water required for the hydraulic ejection mechanism of this self cleaning high speed disc stack separator from Alfa Laval.

Here is a similar story but this time the used centrifuge is a Westfalia Separator Oil Purifier, model OSA35.  This is another type of High Speed Disc Separator used widely in the marine industry.  Centri-Force is an independent service provider providing after care for all makes of vertical disc stack centrifuges and also horizontal decanter centrifuges.  With no commitments to any manufacturer we are happy to supply refurbished used centrifuges that we believe are best suited to the application in question.  Of course we can source any customer preferred model on request.
